October 1, 2008—The Metropolitan Sports Facilities Commission (MSFC) announced that it has selected HKS, Inc. as the architect and Mortenson Construction for architectural and construction management services. The two companies will develop detailed schematic designs necessary to take the next step toward reconstructing the Metrodome in Minneapolis.
The proposed work involves creating a multi-purpose, climate-controlled, retractable-roof stadium on the site of the current Metrodome.
The MSFC plans to unveil the firm’s detailed schematic deigns for the stadium to the public in March 2009. The goal is to have the stadium completed by 2012.
