October 23, 2006 —Global design firm HOK has entered into a strategic alliance with Advanced Environmental, a specialist environmental division of Australia-based Lincolne Scott consulting engineers, to advance sustainable design innovation in commercial building projects throughout the US.
HOK is currently collaborating with Advanced Environmental on the conversion of heritage-listed aircraft hangars in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, for the National Oceanographic & Atmospheric Agency (NOAA) Pacific Region Center.
Since formally establishing “sustainable design” as a core value in 1993, HOK says it has been committed to developing solutions to building performance goals while limiting resource consumption and promoting occupant health and productivity.
