March 31, 2003—HON Industries has been recognized as the most admired company in the furniture industry by Fortune Magazine. In its annual survey of America’s Most Admired Companies, published in Fortune Magazine’s March 3, 2003, issue, HON Industries was ranked No. 1 in the furniture industry.
The ranking was based upon a survey of 10,000 executives, directors, and securities analysts who evaluated the ten largest companies by revenues in 66 industries. Eight criteria were used to evaluate the companies: Innovation, Financial Soundness, Employee Talent, Use of Corporate Assets, Long-Term Investment Value, Social Responsibility, Quality of Management, and Quality of Products/Services.
