September 29, 2006—Honeywell Security has been awarded the title 2006 European Security Company of the Year by market research firm Frost & Sullivan.
The firm says Honeywell has ‘responded to changing competitive and customer dynamics by implementing successful strategies and embarking on ambitious acquisitions to become a global leader in the development and distribution of electronic security technologies’.
In 2005, Honeywell acquired Novar in order to strengthen its position in European security markets, particularly in the UK and Germany. This year, Honeywell’s security distribution business, ADI International, grew through the acquisition of Gardiner Groupe Europe (a leading European distributor of CCTV systems, fire alarm, intrusion alarm, access control, public address and integrated systems), expanding its global presence and building its position in security and low voltage products.
Frost & Sullivan’s Company of the Year Award is presented each year to a company that has demonstrated excellence in all operations including business development, competitive strategy and leadership.
