HSE publishes new guide to comply with UK asbestos regulations

July 14, 2003—The UK Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has published a new leaflet providing guidance to Regulation #4 of the Control of Asbestos at Work Regulations 2002, which creates a new legal duty to manage asbestos in non-domestic premises. The publication outlines what buildings are affected, who is responsible, when the regulations become law, and the steps to be taken to comply with the new regulations. It also includes an information section listing relevant HSE publications and other useful contacts.

Managing asbestos: your new legal duties, HSE, 2003 (85kb pdf file), is available to the public via the HSE Web site.
