July 21, 2006—The Heating and Ventilating Contractors Association has finalized a funding agreement with Scottish Enterprise that will help members active in Scotland to enhance the skills of their workforce.
Under the arrangement, employers who need not be based in Scotland – can receive up to 30% of the direct cost of industry-recognized training delivered by external training providers.
The employees involved need not be Scottish, or even UK nationals; but they must be resident, even temporarily, in Lowlands Scotland and must not be in receipt of any other public sector training funding.
HVCA training courses manager Alex Doig explained that, under the agreement which has been negotiated with Scottish Enterprise Glasgow – a total of 150,000 has been secured for training undertaken before 5 April 2007, with further funding promised for the 2007/08 financial year.
Doig added that the funding was not confined to HVCA members, but that all applications under the arrangement must be processed via the Association. For more information, visit the HVCA Web site.
