September 23, 2005—The Heating and Ventilating Contractors Association (HVCA) has launched a new guide to ventilation hygiene, designed for use by people working with and maintaining building ventilation systems, the association says.
The publication, titled ‘Guide to Good Practice: Internal Cleanliness and Ventilation Systems’, contains all the standards necessary to prove that a building is safe and well maintained.
Gareth Keller, HVCA head of specialist group services, said: “This new guide draws on the very extensive experience of HVCA members and has been written to meet the need for in-depth best practice advice.”
He added: “Apart from the health benefits and improved productivity from more comfortable staff, its also worth bearing in mind that energy bills are also much lower with properly cleaned ventilation.”
The guide, priced at 50.00, can be ordered on the HVCA Web site.
