January 25, 2002—IDEAL.com has introduced two new modules in its IntraNETIX document management family, IX E-Plan Room Plus and IX E-Front Counter, which provide e-commerce capability designed to automate the ordering process for reprographics customers.
IDEAL’s IX E-Plan Room Plus enables reprographics shops to display and sell, online, large format color graphics, posters, and other artistic representations, as well as the typical plans and specs associated with a plan room. Featuring secure log-ins, browser-speed viewing via IntraNETIX thin-client technology and customizable templates, the IX E-Plan Room Plus allows viewing of documents stored in file folders or an ODBC compliant database, so the reprographer can continue to organize his digital files the way he always has organized them. According to IDEAL.com, the reprographers’ customers can view and order prints of the plans, specs, or color graphics they need using only a web browser. No customer plug-ins required.
The IX E-Front Counter is an SQL database-driven e-commerce module that compliments the IX E-Plan Room Plus by enabling the reprographer to offer supplies and equipment for sale on the Web.
IDEAL.com offers customization service to match the IX E-Plan Room Plus and IX E-Front Counter to the look of the reprographic shop’s Web site. The IX E-Plan Room Plus list price is $32,999. IX E-Front Counter lists at $21,999. Customization, installation, and maintenance contracts are additional.
