April 26, 2004—”The Green Glossary for High Performance Buildings” is a lexicon containing 360 standardized environmental terms, according to International Facility Management Association (IFMA) and Antron, a widely known brand of commercial carpet fiber and part of Invista. “The Green Glossary” is intended to serve as a reference guide for those involved in the design, construction, ownership, and management of high performance green buildings. It is based on accepted industry definitions and terminology and is endorsed by leading associations, including Association of Higher Education Facilities Officers (AAPA), International Interior Design Association (IIDA), and U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).
In announcing the development of “The Green Glossary,” Cylette Wills, PhD, vice president of professional development for IFMA, stated that “by combining forces to offer this invaluable resource, IFMA ;and Antron are helping drive the industry toward more environmentally focused decision-making.”
