November 15, 2004—The International Facility Management Association (IFMA) has announced the official launch of its online learning center to provide professional development opportunities for the industry. The center will deliver popular IFMA educational products as competency courses, just-in-time workshops and on-demand audio seminarsall related to the field of facility management. In addition to professional development, the center boasts a helpful module for online collaboration and communication among members, as well as access to third-party content via CyberU, IFMAs online LMS provider.
The professional development of its members is an important goal for the Association, and providing access to FM-specific online learning opportunities is one of many delivery methods. Via the Internet, IFMA members can now take advantage of training opportunities that are more relevant, convenient and flexible than ever before.
The goal of the center is to assist IFMAs worldwide members in meeting educational goals and professional certification. Coursework is based on IFMAs facility management competencies which provide a knowledge base for candidates seeking the new Facility Management Professional designation and help fill gaps for candidates preparing for the Certified Facility Manager exam.
The center will be personalized for each member, providing a record of their completed training, a discussion/mentoring area and resource exchange.
