June 7, 2004—Working with IBM, IFS is offering a free competitive analysis to help companies identify potential areas for improving their performance. The Opportunity Assessment Analysis is a comprehensive evaluation that lets companies compare their performance against competitors in their industries. Each participating company receives a detailed report benchmarking it against the competition in seven key performance areas. IFS and IBM then work with the company to develop a plan for improving performance based on the results of the report.

“Often the results of the report can be quite enlightening,” said IFS North America president Michael Nordin. “Companies will discover areas where they thought they were performing well but weren’t. And they’ll find areas where they didn’t realize they were already outperforming the competition, opening up an opportunity to shift resources elsewhere.

“The most successful companies within IFS’ existing customer base began with a detailed assessment of their competitive position. They used the results of the analysis to create improvement plans and deploy IT solutions that significantly improved their competitive position and bottom line. We would like to help other companies take this vital first step toward reaching their goals.”

IFS is working with IBM in product development and sales within selected market segments. IFS provides complete enterprise and supply chain solutions that offer rapid payback. IFS is also collaborating with IBM on benchmarking and hardware sizing activities.
