IIDA honors six interior design projects globally

May 3, 2006—The International Interior Design Association (IIDA) has announced the winners of its prestigious 2006 interior design competitions: the 33rd Annual Interior Design Competition and the 14th Annual Will Ching Design Competition.

Winners were chosen from among hundreds of projects submitted from interior design firms around the world.

Five winners were selected in the 33rd Annual Interior Design Competition from projects in the following practice areas: Commercial, Government, Healthcare & Institutional, Hospitality, Residential, and Retail.

    Firm: Gabellini Sheppard Associates, LLP; New York, NY 3. Project: Nobu Fifty Seven in New York

  3. Project: Global Hyatt Corporate Headquarters in Chicago, IL
    Firm: Skidmore, Owings & Merrill LLP; Chicago, IL 5. Project: Substance Studio in Des Moines, IA
    Firm: Substance, LLC; Des Moines, IA

In addition, Huvafen Fushi Resort in the Republic of Maldives, designed by C+C Studio, Singapore was chosen as the winner of the 14th Annual Will C+Ching Design Competition, which honors outstanding commercial design by firms of five or fewer individuals.

All winning projects will be featured in the NeoCon issue of Interior Design Magazine, the publishing partner for the competition. The Best of Competition will be announced and all winners will be honored at COOL 2006, IIDA’s NeoCon Gala, June 12 at the Westin Chicago River North. For more information visit IIDA.
