Inaugural fm/IT conference to focus on IT needs of facility managers

November 4, 2005—The inaugural fm/IT Federal Conference, sponsored by FMLink and the International Facilities Management Association (IFMA) Information Technology Council (ITC), will focus on information technology needs of facility managers, especially in regard to working on government projects.

This two-day conference will debut December 13 and 14 in Washington, D.C.

fm/IT Federal experts will share best practices and techniques to: leverage information and electronic data to improve FM processes; discover which technologies can have the most meaningful impact on enterprise collaboration; understand how information standards are defined and shared; and find the resources required to make efforts successful.

The Conference program includes topics such as:

  • Enterprise Wide Facilities Management Vision to Reality
  • A Strategy for Developing the Facilities Information Technologies Plan
  • An Owners Perspective: Building Information Modeling for Asset Lifecycle Management
  • Facilities Management Information Technology: Lessons Learned from the Government
