November 29, 2006—Inc. magazine’s November issue names The Green 50—a set of environmentally minded entrepreneurs that are together creating “a new way to think about being in business.” Inc. staffers and contributors found “the most intriguing” companies embracing the concept of green business, then narrowed the list to 50.
The admittedly subjective list includes a wide range of businesses, including well-known green businesses such as Interface, Clif Bar, NaturaLawn, New Belgium Brewery, New Leaf Paper, Seventh Generation, and Stonyfield Farm; clean-energy companies; makers of green building products such as AFM, Collins Co., Hayward Lumber, IceStone, and Michelle Kaufmann Designs; and others.
