Indus and IBM team up to simplify software integration for utilities

July 16, 2003—Indus International, a provider of asset and customer management solutions, has signed an agreement with IBM enabling the development of adapters for Indus’s industry-leading software solutions. The adapters will enable more efficient and affordable integration between Indus software and complementary enterprise and point applications to help customers rapidly respond to evolving business needs and reduce their total cost of ownership.

The new IBM adapters will provide an integration approach that will remove the burden of expensive and complex integrations from the customer by leveraging the open integration technology in Indus solutions and the IndusConnect Framework to integrate complementary solutions in a way that is both efficient and affordable.

IBM, with cooperation from INDUS, will develop, market, distribute, test, and support the IBM Adapters. The adapters will benefit Indus and its customers by enhancing the interoperability of Indus software with IBM’s and other vendors’ software.

A key element of the initial IBM Adapter solution will be the IndusConnect Framework. The IndusConnect Framework enables open integration between Indus products and complementary solutions by publishing and pulling key business objects. The Websphere Adapters will then manage the communication of these business objects with other critical business applications.
