September 25, 2002—Building on the success of Infosecurity Europe, reportedly Europe’s largest IT security event, Infosecurity World Online was launched in August 2002 as a 365-day virtual exhibition. Using technology developed by Webevents, the online exhibition is free to access.
It is designed to give IT security professionals around the world the very latest security news, articles, case studies, and white papers, as well as access to the latest IT security products and solutions direct to their desktops.
The online event comprises three exhibition halls sponsored by Schlumberger, QinetiQ, and Rainbow Technologies. Within each hall exhibitors will be on hand to provide a wealth of information to visitors. Visitors can interact with exhibitors via e-mail, or request a call to quiz them further on their solutions, similar to visiting a physical stand. They can also collect all the items that interest them at the show in a “virtual carrier bag”, sponsored by Clearswift Corporation.
