Intellibot Robotic Vacuum cleans up at California resort and casino

February 23, 2007—Barona Valley Ranch Resort & Casino has chosen the world’s first robotic vacuum for commercial use, the Intellibot for its floor care, says Intellibot Robotics LLC.

Barona, known for its leading-edge gaming technology, is the first resort casino in the world to use this state-of-the-art carpet care technology, Intellibot says.

According to Director of Housekeeping Ahmed Ait-Lahcen, Barona was in search of an automated solution to enhance its housekeeping services. The Intellibot vacuum offered the multiple benefits of improved performance, reduced operating costs and efficient use of housekeeping personnel.

Introduced in March 2006, the Intellibot IV800 is designed specifically for large carpeted or hard surface hallways in convention centers, hotels, hospitals, office buildings and other facilities that get heavy traffic and must frequently be cleaned to a high standard, says the company.

Like all Intellibot cleaning robots, the IV800 reduces labor costs by up to 85 percent while increasing quality and consistency, the company says. Utilizing onboard computers, highly refined software and ultrasonic sonar sensors, the IV800 maps areas to be cleaned and programs the optimum cleaning pattern for the vacuum. The vacuum requires only about 25 minutes of operator attention per eight-hour shift—allowing the operator to do other, higher value cleaning tasks. For more information, visit the Web site.
