Intellidyne, manufacturer of the IntelliCon line of energy saving controls for commercial heating, air-conditioning and refrigeration systems, recently installed the controls at Krinos’s largest warehouse and central headquarters in Long Island City, NY.
A 37-day pilot test conducted on refrigeration and air-conditioning units at the flagship operation determined that IntelliCon would reduce energy consumption by over 11.2% and reduce system on-off compressor cycling by 16% for the food giant. A reduction in cycling increases compressor life expectancy, reduces start-up electrical surges, decreases maintenance requirements and can often reduce peak-demand electrical charges.
