April 26, 2006—Interface Fabrics has introduced its first open line collection of Terratex fabrics designed specifically for the hospitality market. Terratex is a family of environmentally friendly textiles made from 100% recycled and/or renewable materials using state of the art technology to reduce waste and emissions to conserve valuable resources such as energy and water, the company says.
The first hospitality Terratex open line program is called The Modern Collection and consists of eight jacquard patterns in 65 SKUs, all made of 100% recycled polyester. A whole new yarn color palette system is designed to appeal to the hospitality market. Edgy colors, such as oranges and reds, tomato to persimmon are offered, with updated existing hues in all tonalities.
The initial eight transitional patterns are intended to the mid-market sectors and will include abstract organics, geometrics, and traditional residential-like florals in the hottest colors. The Modern Collection is focused on clear, clean lines in small to mid-range scales, with coordinating patterns for use in all areas of a hotel, from lobby seating to ballroom stacking chairs, and from dining room seating to guestroom chairs.
According to Interface Fabrics, a division of Interface, Inc., Terratex has stringent abrasion resistance and heavy-duty wear resistance, minus the use of backcoatings.
Interface Fabrics has initiated the ReSKU product reclamation program to take back existing fabrics and re-enter them into a production stream for creating more recycled fabric for the future.
