International to manage design and construction of Duja Tower in Dubai

January 3, 2007—Hill International, the worldwide construction consulting firm, has received a contract to provide project management services during the design and construction phases of Duja Tower.

As proposed, the tower will consist of 50 stories plus a ground floor, a mezzanine floor and four basement levels, totaling 195 meters (640 feet) in height, to be located along Sheikh Zayed Road in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. A car park structure, consisting of 10 stories plus a ground floor, will be constructed adjacent to the tower.

The estimated construction cost of the mixed-used commercial and residential tower, including the car park structure, is AED650 million ($177 million). The tower is expected to have a total built-up area of approximately 167,000 square meters (1.8 million square feet).

Hill’s responsibilities under the contract include monitoring and providing advice and recommendations to the client on all design, procurement, tendering and construction activities. The scope also includes development of document control and project control procedures, program, design management and construction program management. The 38-month contract has an estimated value to Hill of approximately AED10.2 million ($2.8 million).
