June 27, 2007—ISSA has announced the first group of individuals to achieve certification as official ISSA Cleaning Industry Management Standard (CIMS) Experts.
Becoming a certified CIMS Expert positions an individual to provide training or consulting services to those cleaning organizations interested in complying with and preparing to be certified to a new consensus-based industry standard—CIMS—that sets forth the proven hallmarks of well-managed and customer-centered cleaning organizations, explains ISSA.
To become a CIMS Expert, professionals within the cleaning industry must attend a one-day workshop and pass an examination regarding the management elements contained in the Standard. The CIMS Expert designation is earned by and applies to an individual professional and not to an entire organization.
According to ISSA, in-house service providers, building service contractors, facilities managers, and purchasing professionals are embracing the standard and, in some cases, specifically requiring compliance and certification to bid on services, so CIMS experts will play a valuable role in preparing organizations for certification.
