ISSA publishes Green Cleaning for Dummies

April 11, 2007—In April 2007, ISSA published a special industry-specific edition of Green Cleaning for Dummies, written by industry experts Steve Ashkin and David Holly. Now, says ISSA in announcing the publication, “commercial or institutional cleaning executives will have no excuse for not starting a Green Cleaning program.” Setting up a Green Cleaning program is easier than people think, says Ashkin, who has spent more than 25 years in the cleaning industry and the past 17 years advocating for environmentally preferable cleaning.

Green Cleaning for Dummies provides practical information for building owners and facilities managers, as well as cleaning product manufacturers, product distributors, and service providers. The book includes chapters on selecting green chemicals, green equipment, green paper, and other green cleaning tools and supplies.

It also provides specific coverage on several types of organizations, including schools and universities, healthcare facilities, and office buildings. Readers will also discover how to measure the impact of going green, choose green products, and communicate with clients about their new processes, and implement a green training program. Green Cleaning for Dummies is available from ISSA.

ISSA is a leading international trade association for the cleaning industry, with worldwide membership of more than 4,800 distributors, manufacturers, building service contractors and in-house service providers. For more information visit the Web site.
