August 24, 2007—iTRAK Corporation announces its new FleetFinder application for PDA and Smartphone devices. With FleetFinder, supervisors in the field can see a list of vehicles in the fleet and choose what information to display about any vehicle. Choices include a directional icon on a full-screen interactive map; an information window showing text-based location, time, and speed; or a daily summary of position count, stop count, and geofence activity.
iTRAK describes its FleetFinder as a powerful fleet management tool, through which field supervisors can click once or twice on cellular phones and see exactly where its trucks are located. Users of iTRAK can coordinate the arrival of people and equipment more efficiently and dramatically reduce unproductive idle time, says the company. The browser-based software application requires no specialized software for iTRAK users. Data is collected in real time and can be viewed on a map or in tabular form.
According to iTRAK, the application is available as a free download for iTRAK Fleet Manager customers, and specific versions have been optimized to run on a large number of handsets, including the BlackBerry and Windows Mobile platforms.
