May 19, 2006—Jacobs Engineering Group, Inc., has announced that a subsidiary company received a contract from the Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC) to provide facilities management services for all court facilities transferred to the AOC’s responsibility in a region of southern California covering ten counties and more than 180 sites.
Officials did not disclose the value of the 3-year contract, which has three 1-year options to renew.
The program is a first of its kind in the judicial system nationwide, explains Jacobs, in which the AOC is bringing all court facilities under a single maintenance organization for each of the three separate regions statewide.
More than 450 court facilities in California are expected to transfer from county to state stewardship under the governance of the AOC Judicial Council by June 2007.
Under this contract, Jacobs may potentially provide facilities maintenance and improvement services for approximately 12 million square feet of court and related space in more than 250 court facilities in the AOC’s Southern Region.
