December 28, 2007—Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. has announced that it is providing civil, structural, and environmental design services to Peel Media Ltd for phase one of the mediacity:uk development in Salford, United Kingdom.
Officials did not disclose the contract value.
The first phase of the development will provide new accommodations and studio facilities for the BBC and consists of the site infrastructure, three new office buildings, a hotel, residential towers, a multi-story parking structure, and a television and radio studio complex, says Jacobs.
In making the announcement, Jacobs Group Vice President Allyn Taylor stated, “We are pleased to support Peel Media Ltd on this prestigious development in the North West which will provide a dramatic transformation of the Salford Quays area. We are committed to providing the highest level of service on this fast-track development.”
