November 12, 2001—Johnson Controls has created a new business unit called Energy and Power Management Services that will be dedicated to energy issues and solutions for customers of the Controls Group.
Johnson Controls Vice President Steven Quick will be responsible for defining the total energy and power management solutions that Johnson Controls provides customers. This will include integrating a variety of product offerings, such as demand side management, information management, program management, supply side management, power assurance and finance solutions.
Energy management solutions supplied by Johnson Controls between 1990 and 2000 are projected to save $16.7 billion in energy costs. That includes $11.7 billion in electricity savings (165.7 million MWh).
