August 27, 2003—Johnson Controls, Inc., introduces the new M9101, a non-spring return direct coupled electric actuator series, in response to requests for faster running time. The new series has a 15-second open and closing time. The faster running time, a 10 lb.-in. torque, and the compact size of the M9101 makes it ideal for commercial two-position zoning applications, VVT box (variable volume, variable temperature), round damper or small rectangular damper applications without the need for any additional linkages or couplers.
The M9101 series includes two floating control models. Versatile features include synchronous drive, direct shaft mounting with a single-screw coupler for faster installations, and optional adjustable rotation stops for application versatility. In addition, explains Johnson Controls, a 100,000-cycle rating extends actuator life and a magnetic clutch is available to provide torque protection for the gear train and damper.
