Johnson Controls recognizes green buildings at Green Tie event

January 5, 2004—During the U.S. Green Building Councils Annual GreenBuild Conference, Johnson Controls hosted the first “Green Tie Affair” to celebrate the greening of the world building industry and the 10th Anniversary of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).

More than 200 sustainability practitioners organizations that support the green building concept and 50 companies that have succeeded in sustainable design and development donned green bow ties at the Westin Hotel, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

The GreenBuild International Conference & Expo, held Nov. 11-13, is the U.S. Green Building Councils annual meeting place for the green building industry. Thousands of green building industry professionals came together to learn the latest advancements in green building design, construction, project financing and building management. The David J. Lawrence Convention Center, a new facility seeking LEED certification from the USGBC, hosted the event.
