Johnson Controls to maintain Baptist Memorial Hospital’s BAS and fire/life safety system

March 28, 2003—Johnson Controls, Inc., has won a planned service agreement with Baptist Memorial Hospital-Memphis (Tenn.) to maintain the hospital’s existing Honeywell building automation system (BAS) and fire/life safety system.

Under terms of the three-year contract, valued at more than $600,000, Johnson Controls will maintain, support, and repair the system that controls the hospital’s heating and cooling systems and its fire/life safety system. According to Baptist-Memphis, this is a step in the direction of migrating the current system toward the Johnson Controls Metasys BAS.

Baptist-Memphis is a 706-bed hospital that is the flagship of the Baptist Memorial Health Care system. The hospital added hundreds of beds in the past few years with the opening of a patient tower and the Baptist Heart Institute.
