August 14, 2006—Johnson Controls Inc., a facilities management service provider, has won a five-year contract from Nortel Networks Corp. valued at more than $50 million per year for facilities management in North America and Latin America, the company says.
Under the agreement, Johnson Controls will provide facilities management, energy program management, project management, lease administration, and real estate property tax and landlord operating cost audit services for 30 sites in Canada, 90 sites in the United States and 20 sites across nine countries in Latin America.
Nortel Networks, a supplier of communications technology and infrastructure, has an existing relationship with Johnson Controls in Canada, where Johnson Controls’ joint venture BLJC has had a worked with Nortel in Brampton, Ontario for the past eight years.
