KI Genius architectural walls win cleanroom certification

October 24, 2005—KIs Genius architectural walls recently earned approval for use in cleanrooms, says the company. The certification assures science, technology and healthcare companies that Genius walls provide protective functionality backed by design flexibility and aesthetic appeal for cleanroom applications.

Only one step is required to adapt Genius walls for cleanrooms, says KI Genius. An extra installation process seals the panels to block the particles from passing through.

The demand for cleanroom applications is increasing due to advancements in technology, says KI Genius. The cleanliness standard required of a room is dependent upon the task performed in the room. The more susceptible the product is to contamination, the stricter the standard. Some examples of products produced in cleanrooms are computers, medical equipment, semiconductors, laser equipment, and miniature bearings.

“Facility managers increasingly need the ability to quickly and easily construct a cleanroom that both safeguards against air and particles and offers a strong visual sensibility, said Rob Wittl, movable walls product manager, KI. With this certification, the design flexibility offered by Genius architectural walls now extends from corporate settings to R&D centers within companies that feature cleanrooms.
