KI introduces next generation of Intellect Wave classroom furniture

March 31, 2008—KI’s second generation of Intellect classroom furniture, the Intellect Wave collection, features a series of innovative enhancements that deliver greater flexibility, durability and comfort to students and educators, says the company.

KI says its Intellect line has set the standard for flexible, comfortable and lightweight classroom furniture since its introduction in 2000. The company has shipped more than 1 million units to date.

The Intellect Wave collection takes Intellect’s revolutionary design to the next level. Intellect Wave seating delivers student comfort, product durability and clean design through a unique manufacturing process that produces a ribless shell.

Injecting gas into a structural pocket between the seat and back provides a greater degree of strength and shape than traditional designs that utilize ribs on the back of the shell, says KI. Replacing ribs with rolled edges allows seating to better adjust to and support each user, while offering a more appealing visual appearance. The smooth, ribless back also makes chairs easy to clean because it doesnt trap dirt.

The Intellect Wave collection, with its comfortable, flexing shell, comes in multiple sizes and includes 4-leg, cantilevered, tablet arm, and task chairs, as well as desks in cantilevered, double entry and combined chair/desk configurations, and can be specified with a wide selection of colors and finishes.
