June 20, 2003—Knoll systems furniture, upholstered office seating, and the KnollStudio seating line have earned the GREENGUARD Indoor Air Quality Certification for low emitting products. The GREENGUARD Environmental Institute verified that the Knoll’s furniture products have low chemical emissions and meet or exceed the GREENGUARD Indoor Air Quality Standards. Products certified by the GREENGUARD Environmental Institute have passed a series of rigorous emissions tests and undergo quarterly monitoring tests to ensure their low emitting status.
Knoll’s certified furniture will also help architects and designers achieve points for the US Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design for Commercial Interiors (LEED-CI) Program. GREENGUARD tested and certified office furniture is the requirement for Credit 4.5 in the Indoor Environmental Quality section.
