KnollTextiles first to have 95% of products Greenguard certified

April 30, 2003—KnollTextiles, a division of Knoll, Inc., is the first textile company to complete the comprehensive Greenguard Certification Program for over 95% of its entire line. It expects certification for the remainder of its textile line by June 2003. Knoll, Inc., the global manufacturer and designer of workplace furnishings, has a strong tradition of leadership in developing and implementing policies, processes, and technologies that meet, exceed or, in some cases, anticipate environmental regulatory requirements.

Knoll’s ergonomic Life chair as well as Reff, Currents, Equity, and Morrison office systems are GREENGUARD registered already; however, Knoll’s manager of environmental health and safety, Lou Newett says “true to our credo of measuring every long-term ecological effect of every choice we makeevery material, every process, every product—it is our goal to have all Knoll products lines GREENGUARD certified.”

GREENGUARD provides the only guide to certified low-emitting interior products and building materials. It is recognized by LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design). GREENGUARD’s goal is to help building owners and managers, architects, interior designers, and product specifiers build and furnish superior indoor air quality in offices, hospitals, homes, and schools.
