Herman Miller, known for its innovative office furniture products, has been cited as the E-Business of the Year among all manufacturers in the InternetWeek 100 annual survey examining how companies are using Web technologies and strategies to transform and improve business performance.
Herman Miller’s top e-business accomplishments, according to InternetWeek, include designing the supply chair infrastructure needed to launch Web initiatives, such as Red, which positioned the company to go after an entirely new market and resulted in an increase of more than 30 percent in its customer base.
The InternetWeek publication and its annual InternetWeek 100 survey ranks the top 100 businesses according to how well they are taking advantage of opportunities offered by e-business. It selects the top 10 across each of 10 major industries or business segments. The InternetWeek 100 survey appeared in the June 11 issue of the magazine and can be accessed online at www.internetweek.com.
