Labor-tracking tool[HL] from MicroMain adds new features including approvals

November 29, 2004—MicroMain Corporation’s xmLABORv6, an integrated labor timesheet program, is used to track and manage staff and contract labor. xmLABOR is a stand-alone module that posts data to MicoMain XM, the company’s flagship computerized maintenance management (CMMS)/enterprise asset management (EAM) system.

With xmLABOR, staff and contract labor enter time and additional information without accessing the MicroMain XM base system. Using the stand-alone module, the workforce views only timesheet fields and needed maintenance work order details. This allows organizations to maintain tight security regarding additional work order information, such as name of requester. Organizations are also able to shield sensitive information tracked in MicroMain XM, including labor pager numbers and wage rates.

The upgraded xmLABOR now includes an option for transaction approvals prior to timesheet submissions. These approvals can be used for compliance regulations, such as those required by the Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA). The module also includes an email report feature that can be used to request approvals before posting labor time.

In addition to logging hours related to work orders, xmLABOR now tracks labor time that is not directly related to work orders. Additional features include options for updating existing work order labor records and tracking the type of labor hours posted, such as regular, overtime, vacation, bereavement, or jury duty. Transaction events, each tagged with a log ID, include non-work-order hours, new labor records assigned to a work order, and work order labor updates.

Allowing users to customize the system for their particular needs, xmLABOR is shipped “open,” with source code included at no additional charge. For more information contact Micromain.
