A state-of-the-art digital imaging simulation program that will significantly reduce the turnaround time for designing custom carpet has been introduced by Lees, a Division of Burlington Industries, Inc. Accelerated Design System by Lees (ADS) will produce and deliver a digital image of the custom product within 24 to 48 hours, improving on the current time consuming process in which manufacturers can take more than a week to get a custom sample or “strike-off” into the hands of a designer, specifier or facilities manager for approval.
Instead of running an additional carpet sample after each adjustment to color and design is made, designers and specifiers working with Lees receive a “Techno Image” after each alteration until the final product results. This image, with total accuracy in color and design, is printed on paper from 12 to 36 inches wide and 18 to 72 inches long, offering a large-scale view of the product. Once the color and design meet the specifications of the customer, a carpet sample is produced for approval.
