Lees refines Celtic carpet collection

Lees Squared has refined the Celtic Collection, first introduced in June 1999, and is now offering the three designs in the collection as both 12-foot broadloom and 18 x 18-inch modular carpet tiles. The collaboration between Lees and Clodagh Design Signature generated a series of carpet collections&#151including the Celtic Collection&#151targeted primarily at corporate and retail settings as well as large public spaces.

“To better meet the needs of the architecture and design community, we adjusted the colors and face weight of this offering,” said Alex Jauregui, vice president of Lees modular carpets, also known as Lees Squared. “It’s a strategically colored collection that continues to build on the Lees color story by coordinating with other products, such as Truth in Color, which is the anchor product for our broadloom division, and Essence, the anchor for our modular division.

The alterations to the Celtic Collection are both structural and aesthetic. First, by using Lees’ TriAx&#174 tufting technology, which enables fine detail of line thickness, dimensional form and color placement, the company reduced the products’ face weight from 28 to 24 ounces, while creating a denser product. The result is a reportedly better performing flooring option at a lower price point.

Next, Lees modified the colorways originally offered with the Celtic Collection by using multicolored space-dye yarns creating depth and richness, and making it more suitable for a host of environments — from new construction to renovations.

Lees’ “new” Celtic Collection won a Best of NeoCon gold award in the modular carpet division.
