Len-Tex’s Surface iQ wallcoverings now meet CHPS IAQ requirements

February 4, 2008—Len-Tex Corporation has announced that its entire line of Surface iQ non-vinyl wallcoverings has been certified to meet the criteria of the Collaborative for High Performance Schools (CHPS section 01350) in independent laboratory testing.

CHPS is an initiative for California schools that is the nation’s first rating program to promote the design and construction of school buildings that excel in environmental efficiency and healthy building practices. Schools installing Surface iQ wallcoverings now can qualify for points under Indoor Environmental Quality Credit EQ2.2.

Originally designed for use in the healthcare industry, Surface iQ wallcoverings contain no PVC or heavy metals, are chlorine-free, and are printed using water-based inks. They also exceed CCC-W-408-D requirements for type II wallcoverings, says Len-Tex.
