Lennox Industries honored by EPA ENERGY STAR program for second year

February 18, 2004—For the second consecutive year, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Department of Energy (DOE) have selected Lennox Industries Inc., as an ENERGY STAR Manufacturer of the Year for Lennox’ contribution to developing, manufacturing, and promoting energy- efficient products. Lennox is the only heating, ventilation, and air conditioning manufacturer ever to be chosen for the annual EPA award.

2003 was a record year for energy-efficient product introductions by Lennox, with nearly 90% of the new products in the Dave Lennox Signature Collection ENERGY STAR-qualified—including eight new furnaces, air conditioners, and heat pumps. Lennox also continued to build alliances with utility companies across the United States, as well as spread the energy efficiency message through national consumer education campaigns.

Commercially, Lennox joined forces with the DOE to educate retail business owners on the importance of energy efficiency, including a lifecycle cost analysis that demonstrates how Lennox commercial rooftop units save 20% in overall energy efficiency, resulting in significantly lower utility bills.
