LIFT-U introduces new wheelchair lifts with a greater focus on architectural detail

April 28, 2006—LIFT-U, a division of Hogan Mfg, Inc., is introducing new versions of the AccesStair and the Courtroom Lift Accessor.

The 2007AccesStair being introduced is an evolution of the convertible stairway/platform wheelchair lift that is found in schools, performance arts areas, churches, hotels, etc., across the country. LIFT-U says the new version will have an architectural look that will compliment the most aesthetically demanding design.

The Courtroom Lift Accessor II will also be introduced. This scissor wheelchair lift will be a companion to the Courtroom Lift Accessor I. According to Don Birdsall, LIFT-U’s Director of Marketing, “the Courtroom Lift Accessor II gives the architect additional choices in courtroom design. The Courtroom Lift Accessor I was specifically designed not to require a pit and to fit into the available witness stand floor space. The Courtroom Lift Accessor II is designed to take advantage of a pit. The Courtroom Lift Accessor II is an all-electric wheelchair lift that is intended to integrate into the witness stand and provide access to both the witness and the judge.”

Hogan Mfg., Inc. was founded in 1944. It acquired LIFT-U, a manufacturer of transit bus lifts, in 1987. For more information, visit the company’s Web site.
