Lightfair winner: Accessmount’s removable fixture mounting system simplifies maintenance

June 28, 2002—The Accessmount mounting system easily mounts and removes fixtures without use of a ladder and replace fixtures without rewiring. It works when the lamp is enclosed and not available for pole-based “unscrewing systems.” Assessmount LLC claims the system is compatible with most surface mounted fixtures and canopies. Among its advantages, cites Assessmount, is reduction in potential for falls by eliminating the need for ladders; reduction of electrical mishaps by allowing for a remote break in wiring; and requirement of little training or practice to re-lamp quickly. One piece, the Base Mount, is “permanently” attached and wired to the overhead J-box (or equivalent). The other piece, the Fixture Mount, is “permanently attached and wired to the light fixture. A pole with prongs is pries the fixture mount from the base mount. When re-lamping is completed, magnets hold the fixture to the ceiling.

Assessmount’s removable fixture mounting system received Lightfair’s Technical Innovation Award and Best of Category Award for Components. For more information, contact Assessmount.
