Lighting conference highlights developments in energy-efficiency

February 17, 2003—World leaders in lighting recently presented the issues, technologies, and opportunities affecting the industry to media representatives from business, trade, and consumer outlets at LIGHTCongress 2003. LIGHTCongress was sponsored by LIGHTFair International 2003, the annual architectural and commercial lighting trade show and conference, to bring heightened focus on the exciting developments taking place in lighting, and to draw attention to the formal show taking place at the Javits Center, New York, New York, May 6-8, 2003.

LIGHTCongress 2003 included panel discussions on: The Future of Light, Light and the Environment, and What’s Cool in Lighting Design. New product trends were presented, including the latest in LED and luminescent technology, compact and energy efficient products, and electronic controls. Discussions on light and the environment centered on new energy-efficient lamp and fixture products, light pollution, product recycling, and the latest in environmentally friendly products.
