September 28, 2007—The Sept. 24 issue of Engineering News-Record ranks US contractors based on the volume of sustainable and green projects they have worked on. The list ranks the top 50 US.- based contractors, both publicly and privately held, based on construction contracting-specific revenue on projects that have been registered or certified by third-party organizations as following specific environmental, energy-savings, or sustainability standards.
The top contractors are: Skanska, based in Whitestone, NY; The Turner Corp, of New York, NY; Bovis Lend Lease of New York, NY; Swinerton, Inc., of San Francisco, Calif., and DPR Construction of Redwood City, Calif.
