December 19, 2012—Magnuson Group, a manufacturer of support furniture and accessory products, has introduced a series of desktop and portable LED lighting called Maxi LED. First in the series is the Maxi LED desk light, designed by the late Parisian designer Phillipe Michel and manufactured by Manade of Paris. The light is distributed and marketed throughout North America exclusively by Magnuson Group.
This versatile task light readily adapts to any office design plan, and to any style or size of desk, workstation, and work surface, says Magnuson. It can be set in place in one of three ways: with a base to sit freestanding atop a desk, with a clamp for mounting to a desk edge, or with an adapter to attach as an integral component to Magnuson Group’s popular Systemate family of clean-design, functionally sturdy desktop organization products.
The desk lamp has a sleek, low-scale contemporary design. It has an infinitely flexible, tapered “swan-neck” light arm that provides vertical, horizontal and lighthead rotational adjustments. The lights can be positioned precisely where it is needed in the contemporary workplace, which is often directly onto work surfaces and paperwork, the company says.
An opaque, normally downward aiming adjustable light head, with integral spectral reflector, is 7-7/8-inches long by 1-15/16-inches wide, on an approximate 25-inch “reach” adjustable light arm, depending on the model, says Magnuson. The light head and light arm work in tandem to direct emitted light where wanted quickly and silently, preventing wasted light spillover, glare and “veiling” reflections. A choice of two or three 2.3w pure white LED lights with ultra-long operating life is available.
The desk lamp comes in a powdercoat matte finish of black, silver or white.
