January 25, 2008—Village Pantry has chosen Mainstream’s CrossForm facility management software solution. Village Pantry sought out a solution that would meet the maintenance management needs of 150 stores and that would grow with them as needed. Additional requirements included mobile technology for field technicians, an easy-to-use work request Web site for store personnel, and a rapid implementation with a phased approach for add-on modules.
Initial-go-live enables Village Pantry’s dispatchers to take and code work requests, dispatch to technicians/vendors and track the entire process within the CrossForm database.
As the project progresses, Village Pantry store personnel will access the request Web site and use an advisor wizard to correct the issue immediately or dispatch the work order directly to the appropriate skilled technician or vendor. The technician will receive the request on a handheld device using Mobile Tech software, take action to correct the issue, and complete the order all while working remotely. Village Pantry vendors will view, accept, and update work requests via the Vendor Activity Web site.
The automated approach will streamline the maintenance processes, eliminate the paper trail, and avoid unnecessarily dispatching to store sites, says Mainstream. The bottom line for Village Pantry will be an organized, well documented maintenance procedure that results in significant cost savings.
