October 2, 2006—Mannington Commercial has achieved Gold Certification of all its Infinity Modular carpet products using Antron Lumena and Antron Legacy yarn. This product group has been awarded Environmentally Preferable Product (EPP) certification from Scientific Certification Systems (SCS), the third-party evaluation and certification program. There are 19 products represented in the initial platform covering a wide range of styling and esthetic, including Neotec precision loops, cut-and-loop styles, tip shear pattern, enhanced loop graphics.
According to Mannington, the broad offering of styles with Gold EPP certification provides product solutions that are applicable for all commercial environments from retail to corporate to healthcare to government to airports. Other product categories are currently being evaluated in relation to the standard.
Carpet and rug products that achieve certification demonstrate conformance to NSF-140-2005, the Sustainable Carpet Assessment Standard may carry the SCS Sustainable Choice certification mark, signifying leadership in environment and social performance.
According to the company, Mannington Commercial has long been a leader in integrating environmental improvement in the design and manufacturing of a wide variety of flooring products. Its carpets and resilient products are manufactured in ISO 14001 certified manufacturing facilities.
