Many UK managers still unsure about disability discrimination

October 22, 2001—A new survey claims that many premises and facilities managers are still unsure of the full implications of the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA), according to the UKs workplacelaw.net. The report, carried out by Otis, found that 86% of those surveyed felt the government had not provided them with sufficient information on the DDA.

The DDA makes it illegal for service providers to discriminate against others on the grounds of disability. Owners and managers must make reasonable adjustments to allow access not only to public areas, but also the work environment.
