McCoy Floor Covering and ARZU Studio Hope offering handcrafted rugs

May 3, 2010—McCoy Floor Covering, a division of McCoy Inc., is announcing an exclusive partnership with ARZU Studio Hope to offer unique and socially conscious handcrafted rugs to its customers.

ARZU, which means “hope” in Dari, is an innovative model of social entrepreneurship that helps Afghan women weavers and their family members break the cycle of poverty by providing them steady income and access to education and healthcare by sourcing and selling the rugs they weave.

ARZU, a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization in the U.S. and a non-governmental organization in Afghanistan, allocates 93 percent of all funds it receives to directly support ARZU’ mission to create a new model of economic sustainability while building grassroots access to education, healthcare, improved living conditions and sustainable community development in rural Afghanistan.
