MDIs SAFEnet Enterprise receives AES certification

March 18, 2005—MDI Security Systems announced it has received NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology) and CSE (Communications Security Establishment) Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) Algorithm Validation Certification.

The AES certification allows MDI certified dealers to install enterprise systems for federal departments and agencies when an agency determines that sensitive (unclassified) information requires cryptographic protection. This standard is also used by non-federal government organizations when it provides the desired security for commercial and private organizations.

AES Encryption will replace the aging Data Encryption Standard, which NIST adopted in 1977 as a Federal Information Processing Standard used by federal agencies to protect highly sensitive, unclassified information.

MDIs SAFEnet Enterprise system provides a centralized, open infrastructure, vendor neutral solution required to adequately secure an organization from a single point-and-click desktop application, MDI says. This integrated security dashboard reduces response time while creating a security infrastructure that supports strategic business objectives, the company says.
